27 boys attended the u8 hurling blitz in Kilmaley last Saturday afternoon. In wet conditions the boys made up 3 teams to compete against 2 teams from Kilmaley, 2 teams from Wolfe Tones and 1 Tulla team.
This was the first blitz where rising was officially permitted. The Clooney Quin boys showed great skills in rising, striking from the hand, hooking, blocking and hand passing as well as the usual ground hurling skills.
Another strong feature of the day was the ability of our boys to catch and attempt to catch the sliotar. In all the boys played 9 matches, where the emphasis is on improving their movement and skill set. Results take second place but our boys lost no match and went home very happy.
Thanks to Kilmaley GAA Club for hosting us.
