U16’s played first round of championship on Saturday last in Clooney v neighbours Newmarket. Newmarket led 2-0 to 0-1 at half time, with Clooney’s only score coming from corner forward Holly Deegan.
The second half saw the home side keep the visitors scoreless while Clooney’s forwards came more into the game. Niamh McGee and Lauren Wall both scored points, and Emma Considine scored a goal to level the match. Holly Deegan and Emma Considine scored another goal each to ensure this first round victory for a very young Clooney team.
