U14 Ladies Football Green team began their Championship on Monday night last in Carron.

Last year Clooney U14’s won the B Championship final so this year are aiming to make it into A.

Four first half goals by Clooney paved the way for the eventual victory, however the score line does not reflect the efforts required by Clooney against a very strong Burren Gaels side.

Half time score: Burren Gaels 0-2; Clooney/Quin 4-2.

The second half was a much closer affair and would have been closer still but for goalie Rachel Daffy saving a penalty mid way through the second half. She made a great saving denying them a surer goal to the top right corner.
