Clooney Quin 1-4 v 2-01 Tulla/Bodyke
These two sides contested every ball to the final whistle on Thursday evening last in Clooney.  With the game flowing up and down the field where two evenly balanced sides.
The visitors were first of the mark when Orna Mulconry goaled while breaking through from midfield. Sinead McGee pointed a free shortly after.  Orla O’Brien also converted a free.  This left he half time score 0-1 to 1-1.
After the break Clooney Quin were on the mark with points from Moya Dunne(2) and Roisin Corbett.  Tulla/Bodyke threatened but Clooney Quin defense held tight with Emer Moynihan, Rosin Keogh, Cliodhna Ryan solid in the full back line.  Both sides threatened for scores but Shauna Doyle in the Tulla/Bodyke goal and Emma Considine in the Clooney-Quin goal both pulled off some great saves.  Tulla/Bodyke eventually broke the defense with Orla O’Brien netting a goal.  This had the visitors three points clear with the game entering the final stages.  From the puck out Emma Considine picked out Ciara Halpin who gathered the ball and running in on goal scored to level the game.
In an exciting game both side had great performances and played out to the very end.

Clooney-Quin 6-01 v 2-00 Newmarket-on-Fergus
In the final game of the group stages the home side secured their semi-final spot with a win over the visitors.  In a game played with 12 aside it was very tight up to half time as Newmarket stood strong and were hard to break down.  Indeed the visitors were first to score and had a goal after ten minutes when their backs had held out. A high shot was stopped by Emma Considine but the rebound fell to a Newmarket forward who pulled on it to score.  Sinead McGee pointed a 45.  Aimee Louise Doherty and Ciara O’Connor found the Newmarket net during the half and so the half time score was 2-01 to 1-00 for the hosts.
After the break with the aid of the wind Clooney-Quin created more scoring chances and were more clinical in front of the goal.  Emily Costello and Rebeca Keane with 3 goals put the finishing touches to a great team performance for the Clooney-Quin side. Newmarket tried hard to break the Clooney defense which held strong again Emer Moynihan and Roisin Keogh were very strong in full back and Cliodhna Ryan until going of injured. Eventually Ailbhe Morrissey eventually broke through and with a hand pass goal scored Newmarket’s second.
