The U12 hurling team and mentors will leave Clooney early on Saturday morning bound for the annual Mullinahone U12 Tournament where they will be representing Clare.

This year they hope to go one better and try to win the U12 cup section. Last year they won the shield but were narrowly beaten by the cup winners.

Rules

  1. Teams to play in County Jerseys
  2. Under 12 Shall mean born on or after 01/01/2005
  3. Teams are 11-a-side and all panel players must play in all matches
  4. Maximum Panel size of 20 – Panels exceeding 20 players will be excluded from the tournament
  5. No Soloing
  6. Scores from a puck-out will not be allowed
  7. 1 touch only on hurley
  8. Teams shall be divided into 3 sections of 4 teams by the committee
  9. Each Section will play a round robin completion. In this a team shall receive 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw.
  10. Position of the final table shall be decided by :-
    1. Points Obtained
    2. If 2 teams have are level on points – results of head to head match
    3. Score Difference
    4. Score For
    5. Toss of a coin
  11. In the event of a draw in the Semi-Final or final there will be 10 minutes extra time (2 periods of 5 minutes) in the event of a tie at the end of extra time a further period of extra time will be played with the first team to score winning the match.
  12. The decision of the organizing committee will be final in all matters. Failure to comply shall involve loss of game(s) and possible expulsion from the tournament.
