The U12 girls football team went “into the west” last weekend to play Kilkee in the third round of the U12 football championship.
Having won their first round game against Eire Og they were then beaten by a marginally stronger Clarecastle side.
The game against Kilkee was a must win and the girls rose to the challenge with a very spirited performance.
The Clooney Quin girls got off to a great start with hat trick hero Emma Considine scoring three great goals to give Clooney Quin a good first half lead.
The Kilkee girls provided a very strong challenge in the second half but our girls withstood the pressure to run out worthy winners on the night.
With two league games remaining against Liscannor and Burren Gales the girls have a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks.
