U12 Clooney/Quin team played the match of the season so far in Quin school field on Sunday last. It was the surprise result of the U12A competition when Clooney beat top of the League Table Fergus Rovers in a cracking game. At half time Clooney led by the minimum 2-0 to 1-2.
Clooney grew in confidence in the second half and went on to dominate all over the field. Final score Clooney 6-9; Fergus Rovers 2-2.
This result sees Clooney joint top of the league with Kilrush, with both Clooney and Kilrush having all matches played. Fergus Rovers with one match to play may supersede both teams for first position which has Kilrush and Clooney in a possible playoff for the final. Or should Fergus Rovers loose their final match – the final will be between Kilrush and Clooney.
