The U12 football panel travelled to Quilty on Sunday evening to play Kilmurry Ibrickane. Clooney Quin travelled with 2 teams to Quilty with the older boys playing first. Darren Frain got Clooney’s first score in the form of a goal early in the game followed by another from Aidan Keating , a point from Jack O’ Neill and Sam Scanlan . Dannan Fox was unstoppable in half forward scoring 1 4 in the first half. Clooney played with the wind and John Cahill got the last point of the first half. Clooney Quin’s defense of Cian Mc Namara, Paddy Gardiner, David Considine, Alex Madigan, Lorcan O’Conor were rock solid through out the game. The home side came back into the game in the second half but could not make up for the damage in the first half. Final Score Kilmurry Ibrickane 2 8 Clooney Quin 5 7.
In the second game the U11 & U12s were just as impressive against the home side. In this game our side looked very comfortable in front of goals and in defence. Goals came form PJ McCarthy , Aidan Beirne, Remik Glowski, Cormac Hale and Sean Cunningham and points from Dylan Leamy, Daragh White, PJ Mc Carthy and Darren Frain. Final score Kilmurry Ibrickane 2 3 Clooney Quin 6 7.
On Thursday evening these boys hosted Clondegad in Quin school and comfortable won both their games. They have one more round game to play on Sunday evening against Eire Og in Eire Og. They will then play the Cusack Park final on Wednesday evening details TBD.
