The U10 boys had an early start on Sunday morning. The assemble time was set for 9:15 and by 9:30 37 boys, 5 mentors and 9 parents boarded the bus for Templemore enroute to Thurles.
The team was greeted in Templemore by the local team GAA JK Brackens and the wheels were put in motion to organise 3 teams to play firstly a game of hurling and then a game of football. The boys played very competative games and matched Brackens player for player in ability in very enjoyable games. The locals provided very welcome refreshments after the games and after that it was back to the bus and on the Thurles.
Well, we all know the outcome of the Clare game and for out troop it was on to Barack Obama’s Plaza in Monegall after the game in Thurles where we were met by Baracks cousin Henry Healy where he fed and watered us before the last part of our journey home. The bus arrived back to Clooney at 9:40pm Sunday evening and all 37 boys were returned safety to their waiting parents.
A great day was had by all and all the credit goes to Kevin for organising everything down to the sweeties on the bus.
