Welcome to the Clooney Quin GAA Club 2020 Development Project
The club recently announced an ambitious project for the development of the club ground including the development of a new clubhouse, a hurling wall and a community walkway. In the weeks and months ahead, we will use this webpage to keep the community of Clooney Quin up to date on progress relating to the development.
So far, we have made great progress, During the summer, the new car park was completed and this proved to be an excellent addition to our grounds, particularly given the challenges presented by the ongoing pandemic. Work has also been completed on the construction of boundary walls, pitch sanding and tree felling in preparation for the bigger tasks ahead.
We have also received planning permission for the construction of our clubhouse facility and preparations are already being made for the commencement of construction works in 2021.
Of course, projects like this need finance and our focus now turns to fundraising – this is where we need the support of the people from Clooney Quin. The club are inviting individuals in the community to participate in a five year direct debit programme at a cost of €250 per annum (or €21 per month), with the club qualifying for an additional tax break on top of the contribution of €250.
On account of Covid Level 5 restrictions, the development committee are unable to distribute brochures door to door, so we are looking instead for people to make contact with a member of the development committee and we will then make arrangements for individuals to sign up.
All support welcome – the more people that sign up in 2020, the quicker we break ground in 2021.
